Flo Scott

Veterinary Surgeon and Director
Flo qualified from Nottingham Veterinary School in 2014 and has worked in Norfolk ever since; initially in mixed practice and then focussing on small animals. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and loves to build a longstanding rapport with her patients and their owners. Flo is particularly keen to help bring on the next generation of vets and nurses, supporting them through their training, and has completed the postgraduate certificate in Veterinary Business Management.
Outside work, Flo is happiest baking or walking her Labrador, Addie, at the beach. She can also be found helping her husband with his sheep and Border Collie, Viv.
Lizzie Peck

Veterinary Surgeon
Since graduating from Cambridge University, Lizzie has worked in Norfolk as both a mixed animal vet and a small animal emergency vet. She provides a caring, compassionate veterinary service to the local community and their much-loved pets. Lizzie enjoys all aspects of small animal practice including the variety it can bring, from treating dogs and cats to rabbits and chickens! Lizzie is currently studying towards her Advanced Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Medicine.
Lizzie shares Flo’s passion for supporting the next generation of veterinary staff and enjoys mentoring new graduate vets in her role as a VetGDP Advisor. When she isn’t working, Lizzie enjoys horse riding and walking her dogs. If there is any spare time, it is spent in the garden or at the pub!
Emma Winward

Veterinary Surgeon
After graduating from Liverpool, Emma moved to Norfolk as a mixed animal vet before delving into equine welfare work. More recently Emma has returned to small animals, having missed the variety it brings and the close connection with owners and their pets. She enjoys meeting and treating all companions, with a particular affection for small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs and rats. Emma has a Masters in the Control of Infectious Diseases and is currently studying towards her Advanced Practitioner Certificate.
When not at work, Emma enjoys horse riding, running and going to the gym. She has a German Shepherd, two cats, a horse and a Miniature Shetland!
Sotiroula Sofokleous
BVMSci MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Originally from Cyprus, Sotiroula moved to the UK to study at the University of Surrey. After graduating in 2022, she moved to Norfolk to start her first job in equine and small animal practice, before focusing on small animal practice only. She loves a day spent in surgery, but enjoys all aspects of primary care, especially helping her patients and their owners through chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis. She feels fulfilled by helping owners support their pets and she definitely has a soft spot for cats.
When not at work, she enjoys baking, cooking and is always up for a holiday abroad.
Emily Ruane
BA VetMB MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Emily graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2020. She initially worked in Norfolk as a small animal vet for a few years, before returning to Cambridge to undertake a small animal rotating internship within a specialist referral hospital. Emily enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, but particularly small animal internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.
Outside of work, Emily is always found running! In any other spare time, she enjoys cooking and hiking.
Jenny Cory-Wright

Veterinary Surgeon
Jenny graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2003 and has worked as a small animal vet ever since. She enjoys getting to know her patients and clients and providing excellent continuity of care. She has a keen interest in dermatology but enjoys all aspects of small animal practice.
Jenny lives locally with her husband, two children, dog, cat and three chickens.
Stephie Walmsley

Veterinary Surgeon
Stephie started at Dereham Vets in April after having graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest. She is Canadian but enjoys new adventures in different countries, so decided to continue her veterinary journey in the UK. Her main interests include ophthalmology, preventative care, and emergency medicine. While in Budapest, Stephie volunteered with an animal rescue charity and would often foster cats and dogs looking for their forever homes.
In her spare time, Stephie loves figure skating, cooking, and spending time in the outdoors!
Bethan Rolfe

Head Registered Veterinary Nurse
Bethan qualified in 2017 and after initially working in mixed practice, now enjoys focussing on small animals. She has a particular interest in anaesthesia and achieved her Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care in 2021. Bethan enjoys building long-lasting relationships with the local community and their much-loved pets.
Outside work, Bethan enjoys spending time with her horse, Jack, her two terriers, Rolo and Bella, and her rather mischievous cats, Brady and Dobby.
Georgie Rix
RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Georgie qualified in 2019 from the College of Animal Welfare in Huntingdon. She has always lived in Norfolk and has worked in mixed and then small animal practice. Georgie became a Clinical Coach in 2021 and particularly enjoys mentoring student veterinary nurses through their training.
When not at work, Georgie enjoys riding her horse, Willow, and helping with her husband’s pigs and herd of cattle. She also loves spending time with her dogs, Labradors Stella and Axel, and Maddie the Border Terrier.
Cayley Atkins

Cayley started working as a student veterinary nurse in mixed practice in 2004 where she enjoyed working with all sorts of different animals. After a period of traveling abroad, Cayley came back into small animal practice and after having two children, she passed her nursing exams. She enjoys the variety that veterinary nursing brings from anaesthesia and being in theatre to holding nurse clinics for young to old patients.
Outside work, Cayley enjoys spending time with her family, young horse Tia, and walking her dogs Millie and Roary.
Hannah Smith

Hannah has always loved animals and gained a degree in Zoology in 2014. She then went on to qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at the Dick White Academy in May 2022. She always likes to be working on improving her skill set and giving patients the best care she can. Hannah is also passionate about helping others learn more about nursing and what is involved.
In her spare time, Hannah likes to bake, as well as spend time with her fiancé and family. Duke, her rescue cat is food obsessed, keeping Hannah on her toes, and sometimes he loves a cuddle.
Octavia Campbell

Registered Veterinary Nurse
Octavia qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2024 from the Dick White Academy in Newmarket. She has a particular interest in dentistry, anaesthesia and theatre work as a whole.
Originally coming from a performance background with a University of the Arts London Diploma, she thoroughly enjoys singing and dancing in her spare time. She also loves to explore the countryside on the farm where she lives with her husband, three Spaniels and an Australian Kelpie.
Jenny Tooley
Animal Nursing Assistant
Jenny joined the team as an Animal Nursing Assistant after changing careers from working in the hospitality industry. It has always been her dream to work with animals and she loves the diversity that comes with her role in the practice. She is currently studying an Animal Care Level 3 course online and aspires to be a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the future.
In her spare time, Jen enjoys spending time cuddling her cat, meeting friends and she also plays the drums!
Amy Hayhoe
Student Veterinary Nurse
After graduating from university, Amy wanted to follow her greatest passion – working with animals. She joined the practice as an Animal Nursing Assistant and loves the variety the role brings. She is now studying towards her qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
Before starting her career in animal care, Amy dedicated many years to badminton, competing in tournaments across Europe and earning a place on the performance squad at Loughborough University. She currently lives in Wymondham with her two dogs, Ned and Jet.
Katie Spark

Animal Nursing Assistant
Katie joined the team in October 2025 as an Animal Nursing Assistant. After graduating from university, she decided to follow her dream of working in the veterinary industry. She has a strong passion for animal care and enjoys the diversity that the role brings.
When she’s not at work, Katie enjoys walking her Cocker Spaniel and going on outdoor adventures, including hill climbing and sailing, which has taken her around the world to destinations such as Italy, Germany, and Argentina.
Lyndsay Mendham
Head Receptionist
Lyndsay has been a veterinary receptionist since 2020 and prior to this, worked as a senior administrator in private healthcare. Lyndsay lives locally with her partner and has two grown up children. She loves nature and exploring the great outdoors; enjoying long walks with her terrier, Pippa, and Labrador, Roux. Lyndsay likes spending time in her garden and relaxing at home with her family and friends, the dogs, and her cats, Aston, Murphy and Mabel.
Claire Spalding
Receptionist
Claire joined the practice as a receptionist after making the decision to change career paths. She is now achieving her dream of working with animals after a career in retail customer services. She is looking forward to meeting all our patients and their owners.
Claire lives locally with her husband and two grown up children. She has a rather crazy dog called Oakley, three very affectionate Pygmy goats and six chickens!
Emily Steward
Receptionist
Emily joined the practice as a receptionist after changing careers from working in the fast-food industry. She has always loved animals and wanted to work somewhere that she could make a difference to people. Emily also takes charge of our social media for the practice and loves sharing news of all our gorgeous patients.
Emily lives locally with her partner and cat called Alfie, who is her pride and joy. She also has a family dog who she loves to spend time with; a Golden Retriever called Dudley. In her spare time you can find Emily cooking, gaming or doing anything arty!
Jo Cawthorn
Receptionist
Jo joined the practice in March 2025 as a receptionist. She has always worked in customer service roles, some of which have taken her around the world to places such as Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. More recently, she has been running a busy sales office for a manufacturing company but wanted a new opportunity to combine her experience in customer service with her love of animals.
Jo lives locally with her fiancé and their two rescue cats Ash and Oreo. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, travelling and horse riding and has recently taken up new hobbies; pickle ball, paddle boarding and wildlife photography.
Carey-Anne Walden
Accounts Assistant
Carey-Anne has worked in a veterinary practice since 2013; firstly, in reception and then moving to a more administrative role. She has recently completed her AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
Carey-Anne lives locally with her cats Biddy and Sybil, and she regularly visits London where her two grown up sons live.
Arianne Walker

Arianne joined the team in July 2025 as the Practice Administrator to the support the practice behind the scenes as it continues to grow. Arianne has previously held a variety of roles in both the equine and utilities sector.
Outside of work, Arianne lives with her husband, 3 dogs, 2 horses and 2 chickens. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking for friends and spending time outdoors.
Rachael Hood
Veterinary Physiotherapist
Rachael started her physiotherapy career in human rehabilitation within the NHS and has since developed her own physiotherapy practice across Norfolk. This began with clinics for horse riders and grew to include clients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal and neurological needs. Rachael has completed a post graduate course at Hartpury University to specialise in veterinary rehabilitation, enabling her to provide physiotherapy for everyone. Rachael enjoys working with people and all sorts of animals including dogs, horses, sheep and alpacas! Rachael offers canine physiotherapy at Dereham Vets and is excited to support pets in the management of conditions such as arthritis, or during their recovery from surgery.
Outside work, Rachael likes to keep busy; spending time with her family and their dogs and horses. Rachael enjoys going to the gym and running, having recently completed her first ultramarathon.
